Lately I've heard some really cool Bit Meddler IDM remixes of cheesy 90s pop tunes. I also heard a really cool Skkatter remix of that Hay Mr. Dj song by Madonna (his mix is called "Madonna is a Filthy Slut"). I was wondering if anyone knows of any other artists that are doing these sorts of remixes. -Charlie www.mp3.com/groundchuckles __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Look for Dsico, mostly bootlegs but he also did electro versions of some 80's pop tunes. Some of the bootlegs are really worth the download (yep, the only way to listen to his tracks). poussinfrais -- Sebastien Dalphond R&D-Hybride

Not a remix, but a ~cool~, cheesy-ish cover: Nautilis - Rhythm is a Dancer (systorm technologies; 3"; 'Firscd') Yep: it's that Snap track: http://www.discogs.com/release/45284. I love the (video) remix on this one: http://www.proteinmainframe.com/ap/tv/readmylips.html ;) =seek= np: Antonelli Electr. - Me, the Disco Machine --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Check out V/Vm, the king of pop butcherism. The Skkatter tune is off a V/Vm CD. Knifehandchop also does stuff similar to Bit Meddlers Shitmix. Probably most well known are the two Criminal 12"s on Planet Mu. A high percentage of stuff on Tigerbeat6 involves abusing chart hits in some form or another. Girls On Top aka Richard X has put out a couple of records that are well worth checking out. You'll recognise one of his tunes from the Sugababes Freak Like Me single. He's currently got a single out with Liberty X, and he performed it with them with great gusto on that bastion of underground music programming, Ant and Decs Saturday Night Takeaway.

V/Vm's website is at: http://www.brainwashed.com/vvm They've got another compilation coming out soon and I've another silly remix on it. You can also get a Puff Daddy remix at my own site: http://www.skkatter.net

Knifehandchop is doing a tour of Europe soon! All you Youropeans keep an eye out for him. (He's in Dublin on the 22nd of March!)

Tigerbeat6 is a quality label alright, loads of good "cd skipping in time to the pop tune" stuff there. I also heard that Richard X might be producing Lil' Kim (she's on Virgin too, right? I think I got the apostrophe wrong) That would be pretty interesting to hear. -skkatter ===== http://www.skkatter.net __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
