I'm terminally underprepared. Thankfully, I don't have much dignity left.
So, sorry for the question, but here goes:
I'm headed to Barcelona (1/10-1/14) and London (1/15-1/19). While I plan on
doing a lot of meandering and silly tourist things during the day, I'd also
like to do a lot of meandering and silly tourist things at night. Well,
maybe not so touristy. Thing is, I'd rather not end up in an anonymous house
giga-club, the sort of place where the predominant dance move is the canine
leg hump. Or find myself hanging out with a bunch of overprivileged white
kids who pronounce that island's name "Ibiiiitha." Can anyone direct me to
idm/ drill 'n' bass/ glitch/ curious artsy-fartsy/ good local rock venues in
either town? Or pubs? Places that aren't so chic, but are unique- places
that actual residents frequent? In fact, anything that isn't touristy would
be good. Even things wholly unrelated to music. If someone wants to offer up
advice on shopping, eating, cafes, museums and silly touring, feel free to
do that as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have no idea what I'm doing- this is,
ultimately, the first time I'm leaving the States, I'm doing it alone, and
I've yet to find somewhere to stay. Now back to pouring through travel
guides like I'm being briefed on a government mission...
