I don't think this went through the first time I sent it: Yo, According to Saturday's newspaper, BBC Radio 3's 'Late Junction' programme this evening features "Harem Scarem, Japanese music for marimba by Keiko Abe and gamelan treatments by Squarepusher". It's at 90.2-92.4 fm in the UK and available on bbc.co.uk as well. 22.15 'til 00.05. Two of my favourite instruments - sounds sweet... Easy, Papa D. she brought in the box but left the cd at home :) might be on again tonight, although http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/listings/ doesn't mention anything... just to clear up what might be a bit confusing to some (it was to me)... the squarepusher bit has nothing to do with the marimba music.... so 'gamalan treatments' might simply be a description of some track of his off some readily available cd? the only things i can think of are the last track on the red hot cock single and the richard thomas thing, though they're not exactly gamalan are they? then again she apologised to anyone who tuned in especially for the pusher so maybe it was something special? i've no idea... it's a good show all the same.. last night featured a smattering of folk, blues, gospel (rev. gary davis kicks ass), african chanty precussion music of some sort, fennesz, jim o'rourke and a really cool 20min raga for dulcimer and tabla... skism
