if i'm not mistaken, in france there is an association that owns artists music. each time a track is broadcasted, the radio has to pay a tax. the money goes to the association which pays the artist.

funny that you would say this after the french socialist party 'stole' one of daft punks tracks for campaign work (they had asked to use the track 'one more time' but daft punk told 'em to fuck off)... skism... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

this is really wack that you broadcast our PRIVATE fucking discussion for everyone to read. grow up, man!!! i still own my music, not the label i'm on. and are you such a ding dong that you think the government has any other motives than profit? WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK GOVENMENT IS???? A CORPORATION!!!!!! i'd rather other people profit from my music as well, and help them live life, then the government make a profit and use my music for anti-seditious reasons. that sounds like hell. and it's not just in france, homeboy. ASCAP and BMI are worldwide. they do not own our music, though. but let me not get into the differences between sync, mechanicals, publishing, royalties, points, etc. you all should know that already. next time i reply off list, like i like to do, don't air that shit out for eveyone, please... peace, _J_ _________________________________________________________________ Join the world?s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

this might sound weird, but, at least in theory, many of our governments are democratic bodies. this means that we (the people) elect people to represent us, not necessarily by increasing the profit of the government. i might be wrong though. /adrian (cellular) http://cellmusic.cjb.net
