ok, so the BASSCADep, being the only time Ae has ever had a track from an album put out on its own counts as an ep, but We Are R Why? counts as a single... ok, that really makes sense. its so perfectly clear now... and i know its an ep, i don't consider it an album, i just don't really see 6 previous items of similar format... -- JA np: my stupid fan on "low" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Um, yeah ... let's boycott Autechre! In the meantime, I'm going to release a collection of music called "tube of toothpaste 39". Half the list will complain that I didn't do 38 releases previously, and the other half will protest "but it's not even a tube of toothpaste to begin with!". It's my understanding that they didn't feel the tracks worked together as an album, so released it as an EP instead. Of course, I could be wrong. No idea why it's EP7 though, the only vaguely plausible reason I can come up with being that it was released 7th June 1999. -- Dan Brusca www.vfrecordings.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Actually, it's a proper name, not a catalog number. It's named after something, the tip off is the font chosen. It's not that obscure, probably if you searched a bit you could find it's antecedent. I'd tell you but I'm assuming anyone who cares about this stuff is a proper nerd and will have more fun finding it themselves. I chanced upon it by accident one day in the library. happy hunting, SOZISM.SHT

named after a font? sure. i think i'll stick with the reason "its their 7th ep on warp". and yes, i'd count we are r why as a single. and i'd also guess that lp5 is named so because "its their 5th lp on warp". and yes, i'd count the radio one as a mix disc or something instead of an artist album. sheesh. why complicate things? dave.
