I was just doing a little reading up on Traktor and apparently version 2.0 comes out in August or something for both Mac OS and Windows. -Aaron On Monday, July 8, 2002, at 01:30 PM, --|.TWINE.|-- > wrote:

I use Atomixmp3 on a PC...in fact I switched from Mac to PC in order to use this program, and it works great. Use version 1.x, not the buggy 2.0 they are shipping now. 1.x is rock-stable, simple, and has no detectable latency. Beat-matching is easy and you can precisely nudge the tracks with the arrow keys. I usually use two copies of Atomix simulataneously with two sound cards and a standard DJ mixer to give me the equivalent of four decks on two channels...I believe I could run three or more soundcards at once if I wanted to, but I've never tried it, I already have my hands full with this setup... As far as I know there is no equivalent out there for Mac...you'll have to wait for the promised Traktor release. I tried Traktor on the PC but didn't like it, the interface is too cluttered and confusing. I don't need all those advanced features, DJing is about selecting and mixing isn't it? I'd second that, the only reason I don't use it is because of terminatorX's scratching and integration with the ladspa plugins. Also, if you only have one sound card you can use a stereo splitter to do headphone cues with terminatorX, while you need 2 soundcards to headphone cue with Gdam. I'm going to be putting my new dj demo up for streaming listen soon, I had to take the old one down after the RIAA radio crap, since it had some non - indie tracks (ed rush and optical) mixed in and I was concerned that somehow that witch Hillary Rosen would find my little mixed track through her crystal balls.
