Hollywood w/ David Lovering (ex-Pixies) and The Nether-Carols, more 6/15/02 Arcadia, CA free show, 2 sets! email todd@beatpunk.com for more info Onwards: Books on Tape is embarking on a tour to promote the upcoming "Hey Typical!" 12" on No Type (release date 08/06/02. Here is a probable list of dates, no confirmations yet. 8/3 LA 8/4 ????? 8/5 Portland 8/6 Seattle 8/7 Oakland (Books on Tape Birthday Bash!!!) 8/8 ????? the gaps will either be days off, or open for booking if anyone is interested in promoting an event. just drop a line to todd@beatpunk.com Canada: Books On Tape is heading to Canada in September. Confirmed are appearances in Montreal betewen the 11th and 13th. Also confirmed is Sunday the 8th at ASPECT with Zug Island. Again, some dates are available, so go ahead and contact us if you'd like to put something on. Releases: 08.06.02 Hey Typical! 12" on No Type 12.10.02 Throw Down Your Laptops CD on Deathbomb Arc Also, there are a number of private releases, mostly 3" CDs and clear vinyl only available to members of the Books on Tape street team. For those who are wondering what ASPECT is exactly - it's an eclectic night of electronic & experimental music that takes place at Holy Joe's in Toronto on the second Sunday of every month (although they've added an extra event in both June and July). I'm going to be doing a tag-team ambient/experimental DJ set with my pal strangeangel23 at the next Aspect (this coming Sunday, June 9th), and local laptopper One Caballero is on the bill as well. I'm also helping them co-promote the Books On Tape/Zug Island show in September.
