story.
A good place to begin is to remind you that our regular club night Xen
Solid Steel goes on tomorrow night (thursday) in London. Chris Bowden is
launching his new album and it's gonna be a super smashing night as
usual. If you aren't in London we are sorry but we'll be thinking of you.

Ok, so what new choons have we got for you? Well Mr Scruff has got a
cheeky little dancefloor number out this week called 'Shrimp' and it
makes you want to dance on the table, so we hear. The Herbaliser have got
a new single out too that's a summer stormer. It's called 'Something
Wicked' and has some great remixes added for no extra charge. You can
take a look at their video if you go to:

Just recently we re-released Amon Tobin's debut album (when he was called
Cujo) from back in the day and you can tell the boy had talent from the
off, look out for 'Adventures in Foam' at your local record emporium.
The Cinematic Orchstra's album 'Everyday' is still getting huge
critical acclaim and is an instant classic, so don't sleep on that one.
Upcoming niceness includes the previously mention album 'Slightly Askew'
from Chris Bowden. A stunning album full of 'proper' jazz, strings and
fantastic musicianship, out on 3rd June. Also a limited pressing of Fog's
new version of 'Check Fraud' on 7" with a Kid Koala mix on the flip.
That's out on the 17th June and we find it mysterious yet uplifting.
Speaking of 7" singles - look out for another limited release for The
Poets Of Rhythm called 'Smilin' When You're Crying' out on 27th June.

July brings us a banging album from hip hoppers DSP called 'In The Red'
and it almost makes us want to use the work 'phat', a great album with
some brilliant guests and tip top production. Also on the hip hop tip is a
new single from DJ Vadim featuring Gift Of Gab and Phi Life Cypher. This
is taken from the amazing upcoming album 'USSR: The Art Of Listening'.
Still in July and we see an album from new signings Homelife called
'Flying Wonders'. Don't ask to descibe it as it's too difficult. Just
go to our download section for a taster of this stunning music and other
up coming releases. Finally, July should be rounded off nicely with the
spangly audio visual album from Funki Porcini called 'Fast Asleep'
includes a DVD and gorgeous somnambulant music as standard. Have a look
around
http://www.ninjatune.net and you'll get some more information.
Which leads us on to nicely to some 'Live' news. Funki Porcini will be
launching his new album at a special event at the National Fim Theatre in
London - more news to follow on that. Mr Scruff is still touring around
the UK and will be in Leeds and Derby next playing his one man DJ-athon
shows, much silly dancing at those gigs guaranteed. Strictly Kev & DK will
be doing their Solid Steel show in Norwich on friday, DJ Vadim's gonna be
in Switzerland, Antibalas are playing in Las Vegas.... the list goes on.
Nip over to the ninja live pages
http://www.ninjatune.com/live and check
it out. Oh and don't forget the special Ninja showcase at the Sonar
festival in Barcelona featuring The Cinematic Orchestra, Bonobo and DK.
Wicked tunes in the sunshine, lovely.
Finally, don't forget that Coldcut have their wonderful radio show
'Solid Steel' hitting the airwaves every Monday, you can listen live on
the web if you are outside London at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/ .
Upcoming guest mixes include Mains Ignition, Russ Dewbury, Recloose & Jack
Dangers. As of next week we hope to be launching some brand new Solid
Steel web pages where you will be able to listen to archived shows whilst
pretending to do some work. Check
http://www.ninjatune.net/solidsteel/ as
of Monday. If the pages are nice and orange we've launched the new site -
if not it means we've had to many long lunches and couldn't get it
together.
ok - thats about it, thanks for reading if you got this far.
