This comp is just hitting the stores within the past week or two. I saw it listed in recent us/uk recordshop mailouts so it shouldnt be too hard to find within the next week or two... Here is the mailout blurb on the release: VARIOUS-FURTHER ELECTRONICS VOL 1 CD A high-quality collection of the finest in today's post-rock/electronica scene with tracks from DNTEL, Burnt Friedman, Global Goon, Manitoba, Metamatics, Apparat, Nikakoi, Hermann & Kleine, Multicast, Static, Calla, Ming, and Penfold Plum. Packaged in a 4-page digipak. E:MOTION LABEL Unfortunately i havent heard this one yet but i agree that it looks impressive. -- -->-Lance---- PO Box 450715 Westlake, OH 44145 United States --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I've had it on promo for a couple of weeks, and it's a good sampler, with an emphasis on "sampler" - i.e. there are no exclusive tracks (as far as I can tell), but it's a nice collection of solid tracks culled from releases by all the artists listed above. I'm especially taken by the Ming track which is a subdued cover of New Order's "Subculture" with alternating female and male vocals. If that's the case I'd be interested to know where Burnt Friedman's 'I've got my love to keep me warm' can be found? tia All the best, Colin. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

That'd be track 3 on Burnt Friedman's "Plays Love Songs" (Nonplace 05), out on his own Nonplace label. HTH. :) -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: Lawrence - Track 7 (Lawrence) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Oops - thanks Kurt, I have most of his work, but evidently don't remember the track titles! On a related note, I've been finding BF's 'Secret Rhythms' difficult - every time I try to get a handle on it, it slips through my fingers like sand; strange, anonymous music. All the best, Colin.
