The experiment is complete. Maniac Industries is officially harvesting email addresses from at least ambient@hyperreal.org and idm@hyperreal.org probably other lists as well. I received 4 spam messages from this company just moments ago sent to precise@staticbeats.com , ambient-list@staticbeats.com , idm-list@staticbeats.com , and static@staticbeats.com The first two were used until I couldn't take all the spam I was getting anymore. Now the latest two are getting spam - and I only use them for these lists. I have received a steady flow of spam from these guys (all with the removal options below - which I have followed) over the course of the past year. I'm not exactly sure what kind of recourse we have here but at least let it be known where this crap originates from. Thats a bad mistake in itself. Then they know they have a live email address, and will then sell it onto another company. But yeah, they must be harvesting from multiple sources, i have recieved it to all of my email addresses, only one of which is subscribed here. -thor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Same here. Anything we can do about this? Admins? Indeed, the best thing to do is to create an e-mail alias or free e-mail account somewhere to receive the list on, and filter out anything that is sent to that address but does not contain the [idm] or alike tag in the subject line. I know I have done it too late for m3 Printing, but by Jove I swear I'll do it right now! :-) --Jan! The spam has already been reported to spamcop.net, hope their ISP will do something about it.
