Yeh, I agree, I meant no harm by that comment, I actually like some of his earlier tracks and the Porcelan track off of Play, has a nice soulfull feel to it, good samples. But his stuff sure ain't IDM, more like POP electronica.

agreed, it's not IDM at all. but i think i'd put Alice DeeJay in the POP electronica category instead. i've always though of pop as overly positive music that is slightly below an estimable workmanship level. since moby is as least trying to be thoughtful (message-wise) i tied him to folk music. if, however, one ties POP to making money, then britney and moby are certainly comparable. it's all in the definition. i agree about porcelain. lovely. so is "my weakness," if i remember correctly. it's been awhile. blake/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "xstatik" <xstatik@kung-fo.net> To: "Blake Irvin" <wordsounds@yahoo.com>; "Inconvenient Dark Matter" <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, February 27, 2002 4:11 PM Subject: Re: [idm] BoC vs Moby?
