But speaking of V Snares... If you can find it, grab his latest CD, "Songs About My Cat". It's seriously amaazing "Doll Doll Doll" is actually his latest, and is really the only thing I've really liked from him since his first cd "Printf" a.k.a. "Shiver in Darkness." He also recently put out a collaborative 12" with Cex on Klangkrieg which isn't that good.

If "Doll Doll Doll" is the only thing you've really liked from him since his "printf" album, then wouldn't that discredit that first remark about "Songs About My Cats", as it lies between the two........eh? No, god, I'm just kidding. I hear you. And "Doll Doll Doll" is probably the most powerful complex album I've ever heard. Most of his work is very dense. He seems to do more in one track than most do in an entire album. AND he's funny as hell. He ought to write a book. What would vsnares book be named? about?

I really liked his remix of cex. Not too sure about the b-side though. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Got something to say? Say it better with Yahoo! The Snares man fucking rules supreme with an Iron hand! If you are into this stuff you should REALLY check out Zod records, Low Res recs. and Addict. They all have websites, they all release fucking amazing stuff. Also a fantastic place to get some of this is at "History Of The Future" they have a deep collection. As for Stunt Rock, he's the fucking best! I actually will be releasing a Cd by him in the next few months (www.cockrockdicso.com), but if you're interested, I did a review of his debut full length on my site, it's in the reviews section: http://www.cockrockdisco.com/superficial_menu.html Donna Summer _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Personally, I find VS's music interesting technically, but I rarely actually feel like _listening_ to his music for pleasure, even less so than Richard Devine's or Von Schirach's. I've only heard the stuff he did for Planet Mu though. It gets so samey samey after a while. That remix of Doormouse on the "Cosmic Forces" comp is cool though, but it's a lot more typically breakcore. I don't mean to dis his stuff cuz I think what he's doing is cool, but if I wanna hear rhythmically complex programming, but which is incorporated into music which actually holds my attention, I'll put on some Squarepusher. I haven't paid any attention in years, but I was into some stuff on Fischkopf (http://members.aol.com/multipara/fkdisc.html) back in da day and the usual Ambush and Praxis stuff. speaking of whom, Jason Snell is better than most idm producers. Excommunicated, on his division 13 sublabel of low res (at least i think that's how it goes) is INSANE. His mix on the 3 the hard way cd on CFET is pretty cool, but overshadowed IMHO by the total destruction of jungle that n1tro drops... anyway... - ja- -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yeah, his stuff is/was good. His 7" on Zhark was full of concise little gems. The whole thing's available in mp3 format on Zhark's site. http://www.zhark.org/ Him and Shizuo were pretty much the only worthwhile things on DHR. Andrei
