i think it was The Economist that had an article about Sigur Ros and
mentioned that the lead singer is gay. i thought to myself, that is so
fucking cool that it's just completely not an issue at all. it made me love
them more. same with Matmos (thanks for the rad article Howard/Grooves).
people aren't really giving examples here as to how BOC 'came out' or how
they are using this to their supposed marketing advantage... it would be
lame if they were using this as a selling point, but i don't think it's a
very good one... it's sort of like listening to Muslimgauze and constantly
being aware of a political agenda. i don't have a problem with
homosexuality, but knowing the artist i listen to is gay (or have, say,
specific political standings, or is from a certain part of the world, or
only have one arm, or are... anything different from myself) is something i
cant NOT be aware of. i like to know nothing if possible.
***the real question is: will all you homo-fckin-phobes still feel
comfortable wacking off to the BOC?
