nice one Stewart. . .great riff there. . .got that one live on tour too! it seems to me that rich makes it a point not to sample drum loops and *beats* at all. . .but sounds etc. are fair play. . .as we know from greats like TAMPAX. . .oooo that one goes. . .and then of course "we are the music makers" SAW&J9 RIGHT! anybody who can name some groups/men similar to herbert and matmos? yea the question may seem a bit dull sorri, but i listen to lots of 'click' stuff like herbert,brinkmann,INK,auch,varley,vs...and i just love herbert's genuine jazzy sound over ticktacky/clicky smooth tech. and for quite some time i didn't get the same taste from somebody else's music. somebody here knows somethng i don t know perhaps? ...and same above for matmos, with the brilliant new album. regards. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

A good place to start would be a fusion of the two.. Check out Drew Daniel's (1/2 of matmos) soft pink truth record on Herbert's soundslike label. It's fun to hear house music made by people that hate house. I would lump Beige in with these cats, their track on the 2nd ~scape comp would fall in line with this stuff. You may also consider looking into some of Akufen's production... he has a lot of stuff out there right now, but the best of it really has a 1-2-1-2-1-2-funk to it.. I'd recommend his remix of algorithm's delgado track on revolver 5 or his trapez psychometry records. I can't comment on his perlon double because I haven't heard it. Twerk and Safety scissors may be worth investigating as well. Granted some of these cats are a little more stripped down then matmos or herbert, but they've still got that swing. hope that helps.. ~g -- Greg Smith http://www.technowest.org http://www.laiad.com http://www.mediawhore.cc <-- site launch Jan 1/02 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
