[Pick Up 5th October 2001] An event celebrating the everlasting charms of vinyl. Featuring ; DJ sets by Wenkar & Alain who will play the records the audience (are supposed to) bring along, Diskono present; "Play Wow" ; 33 1/3 min sound/image designed to "smash the windows of repetition", 'conference' by Philippe Manoeuvre, exposition of covers of collectors records under the auspicion of Yves Poliart, 'Dance Tenderfoot' with Foton Records DJ's Antz and Vanno teaming up with Klaus & Ttocshagg of Diskono for an old skool "DJ Battle" and "Private listening sessions" by Tom Barman & Benoît Poelvorde (during each session about 10 people are allowed in; each 'DJ' will play and tell why he plays what he plays). [Where] Les Halles de Schaerbeek, 20 rue de la Constitution, 1030 Brussels. 21:00. 250 BEF or 100 BEF if you bring a record along. The whole event will be broadcast by Radio 2(national, French-spoken radio). [Who] Tom Barman is the lead singer of Belgian "superband" Deus. Benoît Poelvorde is the main actor in every student's favourite "black comedy" Man Bites Dog. Foton Records, we know everything about and so should you, the rest we know nothing about. Diskono met in 1995 at the auditions to find the bass player for Scottish 'tribute band' to Flipper. None of them got the job, but they decided to stop playing "Sex Bomb" endlessly and instead "adopt neo-avant pop tactics to both plunder the music industry and savage it's media lap-dogs". ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
