Hello, I've just realized that I've never really heard Global Communications. I like the Jedi Knights, but I'm certain that GC is quite different. Could someone describe their sound? I know that they're very highly regarded, I managed to miss ever hearing them though! Also, I'm specifically interested in this release: chapterhouse - blood music: pentamerous metamorphosis dedcd011s I'm very familiar with Chapterhouse. How does GC re-work them? Finally, are the same gentlemen(?) in GC responsible for the Slowdive remix, In Mind? Any thoughts? Thanks! I apologize if this is an exhausted topic! Lush, 90's-style melodic ambient.

Some vocals make it into the remixes, and there are hints of the original tracks. Pentamerous Metamorphosis is a good overview of their style, so if you like it you'd want to look for 76:14 (also on Dedicated, more on the ambient side) and Remotion (more beaty). -eric --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

If you have the Artificial Intelligence II comp., Global Comm. remix Link (which is them under a different name) in one of their best tracks as GC. It's pretty representative of their sound. -Ryan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yes, Reload (another moniker for the GC boys) remixed Slowdive "In Mind" on the 5 Remix EP on Creation. An amazing remix to say the least. This was probably one of the tracks that got me into electronica back in the early nineties. The Reload album "A Collection of Short Stories" on the short-lived Creation imprint Infonet is also highly recommended. It usally makes many listmembers' IDM Top 5. -Mike --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Cant say that I would agree with this Mr Schilling, but 2 each his/her own..... I'd get Remotion first, 76:14, and then Pentamerous Metamophosis..... Also, they did a nice remix of some tune called Asprin, and it makes you go "ahhhhhhh", if you enjoy that downtempo feel. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ryan Schilling Sent: Friday, July 20, 2001 7:49 PM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Global Communications (+ Chapterhouse) question If you have the Artificial Intelligence II comp., Global Comm. remix Link (which is them under a different name) in one of their best tracks as GC.
