For all you Minneapolites and non-Minneapolites
Cex did a great show. I may sound cynical, but... why does he tour with
people? He blew his opening acts away. :D
Gotta like someone who can freestyle rhyme Yugo with poor.
It really is all about crowd surfing.
Ironically, even though he wasn't tweaking his stuff live, he showed a lot
more "intimacy" with his music, knowing where all the change-ups were and
able to react live to things, instead of just furrowing his brow and
twisting a knob. Granted, much IDM could really be performed live just by
playing back an MD or something, so it's nice to see someone who actually
says like "hey minneapolis" and changes "the Bon" to "the Boner" with some
paper and tape ;D
I could see how listening to mp3's don't do rjyan justice. If he comes to
your town, make sure to see him.
