Actually, the *original* track was called "Rocked By Rape" - "Rocked By
Rave" is one of several remixes.
For those who haven't heard it, the track features samples from AC/DC mixed
with newscaster Dan Rather saying 'rocked by rape" and other lifted sounds.
ECC and the label were actually threatened with a lawsuit from CBS and Dan
Rather a year or two back when they caught wind of the record via a mention
in SPIN Magazine. Full story at

ECC released a bunch of what they called "Napster Bombs" - taking their own
tracks and putting other artist names on them (some vaguely related, some
not related at all). Again, you can get more info at

Funny story about this. Mark Gunderson of ECC is a friend of mine, and he
comes up to Toronto from Columbus for occassional visits. The last time he
was here, Kid Koala's band Bullfrog was playing here in town, so we went to
check them out. Koala was doing a little DJ set when we arrived, and
literally the *second* we walked in the door, he put on "Whipped Cream
Mixes"! Totally crazy, and totally true! Mark ran up to the side of the
stage and handed Koala his card, and when KK finished cueing up the next
track, he had a look at it, broke out into a huge smile, and got Mark to
sign his copy of the 7". :)
