Hello all, i just got Brasilia by Panacea as my thing by them, not knowing what to expect, but hoping for some real intense crazy beats. I really enjoy the tenth song, embark. It's real random, uses white noise as percussion, really really fast, hectic.. drum and bassy, and then on top of it a nice melody. If you know this song, what other panacea do you reccomend that sounds similar? Or if not panacea, other musicians that fit into the category of super intense creative drum and bass, or something like that... i know about bogdan raczinksi... stuff like that. any suggestions? also, the 12 song on brasilia samples squarepusher's come on my selector.. the beat that starts the song... the song turns out pretty cool, but isnt that stealing or something? thanks in advance for any suggestions. -michael --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

well squarepusher stole it too... it's from a Lyn Collins song called "Think" and people have been jacking that beat since forever, probably more than either "Amen" or "Funky Drummer" which are very frequently jacked beats -- String Theory : Digital Music for Humans http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/index.cgi --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I picked up Brasilia Architectura, vol 4 and think it is absolutely beyond belief brilliant. I've never really heard Panacea besides some songs on some compilations or what not, so I'd like to hear about their other albums, are they all like this? What else should I purchase if I am like hyperventilating over how good this album is? those Germans, i swear, they drive me nuts. I think I need to move. btw: this isnt worth a whole topic but that IDM hot teen sex thing... you know there is like 3 15-year old boys sitting on the other end of the computer screen, giggling uncontrollably and then going home to discuss it on AIM. i think what worries me is that they are 25... _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Panacea does allot of Hardcore Junglist type sheote. "DarkStep" they might call it. I have Phoenix Metabolism here and its pretty slick. Its gotta lot of Hard JungHop? hiphop stuff on it...its really noisy. "how do you say, es Trash Can Beats?" is how Mr. Panacea explained it himself in Modulations. as for Brasilia Architectura, It wasnt really for me...I'm not to into Ambient chunes, but thats just me. I know Phoenix Metabolism is nuthing like it. He did some work with some Japanese chick(forgot her name), and correct me if I'm wrong, he runs Position Chrome Records aswell. hope this helps a bit Yulia, ttyl. the best thing Panacea ever recorded was "Twisted Designz", this was before he decided to loose the 200 pounds. I saw him live circa 1998, and that was the best jungle set ever played, it was more like a punk show !!. I heard one of his interviews where he said he was tired of being classified as this dark ogre, that people were afraid to book him. That may explain his change of style, to a more frienly uk drum&bass sound.. CRAP! he was my favorite jungle artist and apparently he sold out too. There's also a remix of AE' "second bad vilbel" on that album. otomi;) if you ever catchin' live- sometimes he plays his old tracks....

I like the pictures of him mackin' on well-to-do chicks while dressed in marylin manson tshirts. And yeah, I agree with Yulia. quoted from brainwashed.com, "pardon me........? do i look like i ever snowboarded or had long hair? i hate snowboarders, they´re worst than surfers and i hate men with long hair, the longest hair i ever had was to my ears, no longer." that's a lot of unbiased hate! someone should subscribe him to this list :D cheers, /derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- now on the interweb --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
