hey - just curious - anyone know if the pub album "do you ever regret pantomine?" was ever released on ampoule? i recall forcefield online or someone rev'ing an advance of it a while back, but never saw this on any mailorder lists or in shops after that. curious as i loved their earlier 12"s on ampoule, and can find nothing on the web about this one. the label doesn't have a website, or one that i can find at least... bueller? bueller? anyone? - thanks, brock ===== Brock Phillips Motormouthmedia 2525 Hyperion Ave. #1 Los Angeles, CA 90027 fon 323.662.3865 fax 323.662.3844 email bmotor@pacbell.net __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? i'd like to pose a much broader question about pub. i picked up the summer cd on vertical form, mostly to feed my arovane obsession, and was completely blown away by the original pub track. So here's the question: how does summer compare to his other releases? any recommendations as to which ones i should look into picking up? thanks. - d ----- Original Message ----- From: Brock Phillips <bphil_123@yahoo.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Cc: <idm-m@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2001 3:41 PM Subject: [idm] pub album?

no joke. ditto to this recommendation. pub "summer pt. one" is the title of the original, vertical form's the label. came out on cd and 12", that's one of the pub singles i was referring to - slowly strobing ambient sounds a la global communication's best, builds over 10-15 mins. plus. pub (he/she/they?) did another single (wax only i believe) for ampoule two or three years ago called "lick/lunch" that's good but not as good as the vertical form one. probably damn hard to find this one now though. if i remember correctly, it comes in with ambient washes and people talking in the background. another slow-build kinda track, i always mix this with seefeel and it flows like a dream. but those two singles are all i know pub's ever done. all the more reason i was looking forward to the possibility of an album... anyone know the word on this one? --- d_jak <d_jak@netzero.net> wrote:

how funny. i was just listening to summer while i was driving through some country-ish roads. what a great track. one of those ones where you wouldn't care if it just kept going for another 15 or 20 minutes. i think the title is perfect, even if the artwork doesn't match the mood at all. the new monolake 12" is pretty good, too. alan! ahh... my mistake - i assumed that whoever put out a track as good as "summer" would have a bunch of other releases. i heard that the cd was oringally released as two 12"s. i may have to look into getting those. while we're on the topic of those two 12"s. anyone have any thoughts on how the vladislav delay mixes compare to his other work? he's another artist i've missed the boat on entirely (i've only recently gotten into the "russian sound," if i dare to call it that - i.e., eu, novel23, ...). i really like the title track "frost" off the new monolake. what can i say, i'm a sucker for a slow build. the other two tracks are unremarkable. - d ----- Original Message ----- From: alan r lucas <alucas@telerama.com> To: Brock Phillips <bphil_123@yahoo.com> Cc: d_jak <d_jak@netzero.net>; <idm@hyperreal.org>; <idm-m@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2001 9:44 PM Subject: Re: [idm] pub album?

In our collection, the pub ep's are in there between Dynamo (on din), Skein, and monolake. I highly suggest the summer cd, this sis one of the few cd's full of remixes that manages to hold onto its original concept from track to track. I would also suggest picking up anything by Dynamo to anyone who likes the pub records. ____________________________________________ Adesh Deosaran Uneven Foundation T 1(718)349-1578 F 1(718)504-4010 adesh@unevenfoundation.com www.unevenfoundation.com -----Original Message----- From: Adam Piontek [mailto:apiontek@yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2001 4:44 AM To: Inconvenient Dark Matter Subject: RE: [idm] pub album? - style?
