Greetings Pigeons, Welcome to the very first edition of the Context Free Media newsletter (i.e. spam). I will be sending out these messages approximately once a month to announce new releases, activities of Context personnel and various other bits and bobs. If you wish to be removed from the mailing list, please let me know. There will be no hard feelings, I promise! This 12-inch compilation features Sutekh, Kit Clayton, Safety Scissors, and two new recruits from abroad, Portable (Cape Town/London) and Ben Nevile (Vancouver), whose solo debuts will follow. MP3s of TEXT06, 07, and 08 are available for download from the website. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Related Release News ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Pigeon Funk [aka Sutekh & Kit Clayton] will be released later this month on Safety Scissors' new label Proptronix. Five tracks on vinyl with a very colorful sleeve. A preview of the artwork and MP3s of the music can be found on the Pigeon Funk website. Also, look out for the music video for "Fly the Coop", coming soon to your local MTV station! (http://www.pigeonfunk.com). Delay06 (12-inch) featuring Sutekh and Geoff White will be released next month (http://www.cytrax.com). Sutekh's "Collaborations Vol. 1" (12-inch) will be released June 18 on Force Lab (Force Inc sub-label), featuring collaborations with alva.noto, Kit Clayton, and Geoff White (http://www.force-inc.net) Sutekh's remix of Psi Performer (aka Anthony Rother) will be released in the Fall as part of a massive 5 12-inch/2 CD series (http://www.kanzleramt.com). Finally... expect a new full-length from Sutekh on Mille Plateaux this Fall. Safety Scissors "Either Or" E.P. was recently released on Plug Research. His debut full-length entitled "Parts Water" will follow shortly (http://www.plugresearch.com). Also look out for the Safety remix of Slicker on Hefty (http://www.heftyrecords.com) as well as various guest vocal appearances... Twerk's latest full-length "Now I'm Rendered Useless" was just released last week on Force Inc., with design and photography by Sutekh. Since agreeing to release his debut on Context (TEXT08), Ben Nevile has received offers from several other labels. He cut and bruised his right leg and hand, sprained his right elbow, and ruined a pair of pants. Luckily, he has recovered quickly and can be seen once again speeding around town on his trusty two wheels. Fashion news: Safety Scissors is sporting a new self-described "glam mullet", complete with bleached blonde fringe. Twerk has been growing out his hair for quite some time and now features a shaggy "indie" do. Kit Clayton has recently begun to wear his glasses, making him a much safer driver (not to mention how smart he looks). Sutekh has been wearing the same glasses for 4 years and sports the same boring shaved head. The others say he needs a new look.
