ok first up the sounds which have been reaching deeper and activating more receptors than any other cds for a v long while:- Faust - the wumme years 1970-1973 box set. Wonderfully inspiring and provocative music, full of contrasts but unified by 'a golden thread'. Drifts and drones contrast with industrial churns and motorik grooves; anologue sounds (used hommade sound equiptment a good 15 yrs b4 rdj. they sound nothing alike but i thought i d get some idm content in) runs over the insides of your skull. achingly beautiful moments of repose and alien sounscapes flit in and out with dream logic. 5 cds. great music. try it. one i just bought. 'famous when dead' a playhouse (home of isolee.posted a reccomendation of his album rest a couple of weeks ago). to mark their 50th release. more twisted individual house. quite enjoyable. freaks in there aswell 4 all th broken beat fans out there. nice unique house. worth getting. one i just bought today:- Caravan - if i could do it all over again id do it all over you. canterbury scene prog from late 60s-1970. Beautiful sense of an ancient and green england, like tapping into a ley line. hazy summer drifting, energetic grooves, all swathed in english summer like, distinctive melodies. s'good! its pastoral, but not a valium drenched keyboard in sight. just second a reccomendation of mbv, loveless. it is everything every1 says it is. yeh and im sure some 1 mentioned it th other day aswell so ill second the fact that luomo - vocalcity is quite a satisfying release, deep round minimal click house. last thing another person mentioned pub's summer ep the other day. that is v worth picking up. arovane mix is not his usual plinky plonky ae rehash, niiiiice. v delay, a velvety night time mix. nick rappiocelli or however u spell it does a nice line in a heavy dry dub. pride of place goes to th original, sucessfully genreless levitational music- grrrreat. well thats it for now, hope some of you found that helpful or interesting -thomas ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
