Are all of these shitty whining and complaints about Confield based on the supposed fake tracks floating on Napster? Is there anyone disappointed with the album that actually owns a real copy of it? Maybe no one's even heard it yet. It may be out in Japan, but whatever. I absolutely refuse to believe anything I hear until the copy is in my hands. And even then, as someone mentioned before, you can't judge it by one, two, or three listens. It takes patience and time to get the full effect of their music. Does anyone actually think they'd put out a shite album and not know it? I don't think they would bother releasing anything that doesn't live up to their personal standards. Which is why I won't believe any of the crybabies on this list. I've spoken with Rob and Sean and they've agreed to include comment cards with each new release. It will be a rating system with values 1 to 5 inclusive (1 being poor/strongly disagree, 5 being excellent/strongly agree) except where otherwise noted. Questions to be answered will include some of the following: Are you satisfied with this ae release? 1 2 3 4 5 Is this album better than the last? 1 2 3 4 5 Is this your favorite ae release? 1 2 3 4 5 Would you book ae for your birthday party? Yes No Do you prefer older ae? 1 2 3 4 5 Do you prefer newer ae? 1 2 3 4 5 Do you like the direction ae are taking? 1 2 3 4 5 Which action figure would you buy? Rob Sean etc... Rob and Sean have ASSURED me that they are commited to 100% customer satisfaction with every ae release from now on. It's a little known fact that they actually ONLY make music for other people, and if they had the choice they'd rather make puppets... with your kind permission of course. Thank you for being so patient with Rob and Sean, and they'd like to deeply apologize for releasing music without first consulting this list. Again, your feedback is invaluable to the process of them keeping you happy. Love, Doug and ae. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Now this is the funniest thing I have read on this list in a long time. I agree that my opinion of the album has no bearing on whether Sean and Rob should continue whatever path they choose to take. It's their music and they can do what the hell they want with it. on 4/20/01 6:16 PM, Doug at umstechi@cc.UManitoba.CA wrote:

Okay, so first off, no one is being a cry baby, there is nothing about stating an opinion that makes someone a cry baby. Second, I have to give you credit because it took me a while to learn to appreciate EP7. Third, I am pretty sure the copy I have is Confield. Hope you like it though. Some people own a copy: The promos are out. You´ll find the real confield-tracks now on napster, you can prove they are from confield - check out the real-audios on warp-website. BTW: A fake "Cfern" out on Napster (length 5:06) is excellent, no whining necessary. (Someone said it´s "Loopmind" by EU - I don´t know). -- Michael - msnet@uni.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yep, I created that particular batch of fakes and I can confirm it is EU's "Loopmind" from the gorgeous "Reframing" album. It's been quite funny sitting back and watching the fun. If anything it accomplished two things -- confused all the "I must hear Confield NOW!" types and turned a lot of folks onto new music. When anyone attempted to download the fakes from me (at least whilst I was paying attention), I always told them they were fakes. I got some guy interested enough in Arovane to run out and buy "Atol Scrap" and "Tides" the next day and someone else interested in Cristian Vogel's "Rescate 137". Sounds like everyone's a winner to me. -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

You were dead serious? Wow... that's kinda... sad. Confield hasn't been floating around long enough for everyone to reach a conclusion like that. Autechre records require time to digest.
