I just wanted to chime in that a few months ago I saw Juno Reaktor live in seattle and it was one of the most hilarious and pitiful displays of gratuitous stage embellishment crap I have ever witnessed. OK so first the "ORB" comes out and he is just some guy "mr. patterson" spinning records, and he isn't very good, more than a few trainwrecks and he couldn't keep people dancing he sucked so bad... Then Juno Reactor comes on, which was this tribe of african drummers half naked with crazy feathers and war paint on beating on all these different drums and chanting - That part was cool... What sucked was that you could barely hear them over what the real "composer" was doing, which was basically playing cheezy metal hard-rock digital cheeze guitar over pre-sequenced songs that sounded like he was just playing back select tracks off of the CDs.... THis guy had a cheezy 80's rock star look to him with poofy hair and a leather jacket and sun glasses... it was really laughable... spoiled my ability to listen to Juno Reactor ever again.. Don't get me wrong, I used to listen to all the juno reactor albums and beyond the ultraworld has been a favorite orb CD of mine for many years... I just thought this show blew live. So what makes a good live show, in my opinion, isn't just that they do something different on stage... it's that they demonstrate some kind of skill and make it sound good..... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yeah, what was up with that? i found it hard to believe that alex paterson was such a bad dj--was it really him? -rachel -- "why does shrimp go from grey to pink when you cook it, but meat goes from pink to grey? those are the kinds of things that i think about." --jon! rachel@velvetpants.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
