Howdy, [Message Forwarded] Date: Wed, 16 Nov 94 13:28:55 GMT From: rrl!giles (Chris Giles) Message-Id: <9411161328.AA09175@rrl> Content-Length: 793 Status: RO On this subject, you might like to know that the new Bomb The Bass single, 'Dark Heart' is *excellent*. Its on 2x12" promo at the mo. with mixes by Major Force (from Mo Wax), Alpha and Omega (top dub, check out if not heard of them), and Sabres. All mixes are cool, buy asap. My favourites so far are the Sabres 'main mix' and the extra track 'Dressed In Black' which appears on the flip of the sabres disc. I would advise buying the promos, as they may condense the 2 12s into one, and miss out some mixes, like they did with bug powder dust. Please fwd to list. cheers Chris Giles RET ADDR: giles%rrl@britain.eu.net [End Message] Regards, John

I can confirm that this is excellent, and that the commercial 12" lacks some mixes - it seems that possibly the two promo 12"s have been replicated as the two commercial CD5s. The 12" includes the 2 sabres mixes, the alpha & omega, LP version and one other (can't remember). No Major Force mix or "Dressed in black" A Dubonic Experience methinks... Um. For anyone who ha this record or knows something about the new Bomb The Bass release(s)... Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto was to have collaborated with them a while back for something to be released. I was wondering if anywhere in the liner notes did it mention either Jack or MBM? .`-). christopher miller o o.' evil@fdt.net == ' --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

all y'all pining for squarepusher's glorious days of "feed me weird things" could do worse than to check out jack dangers' new Bomb the Bass 12". the a-side is full of sparkling keys and frenetic breaks, filtered just so, in that particularly vintage jenkinson/spymania way. it sounds a little uninspired, to my ears -- i've heard enough of that particular effect -- but the b-side's got more up its sleeve. B1 is a sort of eerie downtempo track that'll probably appeal to fans of vibert, but my money's on the B2: hella funky, super-chopped breaks paired with some grinding bass action and layer upon layer of burnt-around-the-edges melody, like boards of canada all cranked up after a *really* rough night. i think it's fucking lovely, in fact. see: www.electrictones.com www.bombthebass.com cheers philip

Isnt Bomb the Bass the guise of Tim Simenon? What does Jack Dangers have to do with it? Regardless of producer, i'll certainly check out the new Bomb The Bass ep that Philip mentioned because I enjoyed the Bomb The Bass/Lali Puna - Clear Cut ep so much. On a related note, I really enjoyed the first release on Tim Simenon's Electric Tones label which was the Electric Tones 1234 comp 2x7" that came out earlier this year. It contains original tracks from Opiate, Flow Creator (tim simenon), and Club of Chaos (?) that would appeal to those into the light melodic Morr Music/Hobby Industries style of electronica. -- -->-Lance---- PO Box 450715 Westlake, OH 44145 United States --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Pietro. ps- i agree, the new Lali Puna/ Bomb the Bass release on Morr is deliciously crafted. ___________________________________ igloo magazine :: :: :: www.igloomag.com pietro da sacco :: :: pietrobot@home.com 9745 lynngrove cr., windsor, ont., n8r 1b8, ca. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
