as clipped from the www.skimo.com mailout. it's finally out! and it's another b.smith gem.. ASPEN : Music From Passing Cars CD (INVOLVE) $14.50 New Zealand's Involve label (on temporary exile in the UK at the moment) return with yet another eye-opener from label boss Bevan Smith. This is the second LP from Aspen and comes not long after the fantastic 'Sugar and Spice' EP for Emanate. This is downtempo territory - lush multi-layered harmonies with a signature electroid sound. While Involve's blinding 'Mandrake' LP went into slightly housey territory, Aspen returns to more electronic listening atmospherics. Surely it must have occured to some of you by now that with a catalogue as varied as the works of Signer, Isol, Mandrake, Aspen and Jet Jaguar, and especially given that all are the work of one man, that there is a serious talent on display here...one that requires your attention. RECOMMENDED. pietro. :: :: :::: :: :: :: :: :: ::: :: :::: :: : :: igloo magazine :: :: :: www.igloomag.com pietro da sacco :: :: pietrobot@home.com 9745 lynngrove cr., windsor, ont., n8r 1b8, ca. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hmm.... just for record, the distributor's press info is slightly off. 'Music from Passing Cars' is the third Aspen full length. Bevan releases music as Aspen and Signer, and did some production for Mandrake, but "the works of Signer, Isol, Mandrake, Aspen and Jet Jaguar" are definitely not "the work of one man". Well, they're the work of one man each, but not the same man. :-D I believe Bevan's take on who we all are is going to show up in a feature on de-bug I believe. Auf Deutsch? I dunno. Not that I have any reason to be sour about someone else being given credit for Jet Jaguar stuff, of course. ;-) Michael -+- Involve Records http://involverecords.com Jet Jaguar MP3s (latest upload Nov2000) http://mp3.com/jetjag -+- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
