I remember finding a small mag called Obsessive Eye, that covered IDM, more experimental DnB, as well as some post rock. Haven't seen it in a year or so. But I remember that it was a British mag. On Thu, 8 Mar 2001 10:00:34 -0800 Philip Sherburne <philip@askjeeves.com> writes:

Hello. Anyone know of any decent pring mags in the UK that deal exclusively (or at least significantly) with IDM/electronica? I can't say I've ever encountered any. The nearest thing I've seen is Jockey Slut, which does skim the surface of IDM/electronica, but includes lots of other genres too. Failing that, any English or French language IDM/electronica mags in Europe? Or am I going to have to subscribe to some US-based mags? Hmm, or are there some great web sites out there that I happen to have missed? there's The Wire, which is pretty widely distributed - you should be able to order it from your local papershop or find it in any decent-sized branch of WHSmiths. another one is Obsessive Eye, although the last issue of Obsessive Eye came out a coupla years ago now and since David Howells (sp?) is heavily involved in Fat Cat Records i dunno if/when he'll get time to do a new issue. there's also Break/Flow - not really idm as such, but quite interesting all the same. a more techno focussed mag is Overload (http://www.overloadmedia.co.uk/) - good articles, and it's also free!!! if you're interested, i think Smallfish probably have copies of Obsessive Eye and Break/Flow, and they also had copies of Grooves (a pretty decent US mag) a coupla months back. ta rob _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Sleaze Nation used to have pretty good coverage - they were the first place I saw snd and Pub covered, I think - but they've gotten much less interesting, of late. Whatever happened to Immerse, anyway? They only did three issues, but they were pretty great. Their website's still up, but hasn't been updated in eons. Anyone know those guys?
