on the contrary, I think ep7 shows about 100000% more dynamics than that new ae sample. compressed? zero dynamics? noise?!??! how is this any different than any other autechre album, save perhaps amber? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think there are more changes of dynamics in eg. 'Second Bad Vilbel' (off 'Anvil Vapre') or 'Vletrmx21' (off 'Garbage') than anything on 'ep7'. I know they're not off any album (ignoring re-packaging), but I hope you weren't being that literal! 'Second Bad Vilbel' is probably the more clear cut example, where it falls back to that single burst of noise and then off towards silence on several occasions, but 'Vletrmx21' has massive swells in volume too (maybe perceived volume of various frequencies, I dunno...). I'll be honest that I haven't heard any of 'ep7' since I sold it, which would've been in 99, so my memory may be playing tricks on me. I just don't remember any lulls at all, and consequently no punchy bits or climaxes. Michael np. Hmm. I think tri rep(++) has very little dynamics, actually. It's very sample/sound/tone based. It is very dynamic though, otherwise it would be shit. however its a lot less dynamic rythmically than ep7, if you dont agree youre crazy. also, anvil vapre and garbage are albums. jsut because they wer epackaged in tri rep++ doesnt make them not albums...

thats pretty static actually, in a static/dynamic sense. the volume of that sample never changes once. same for the other drum tones. did you perceive different?

well i must say its a step up/down/away from tri rep.. but I really think they progressed. i mean, dude, how can anyone not listen to maphive 6.1 and go, fuck! first time i heard that i about cried not punchy? id hear people complaining it was too punchy till my ears fall off --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think you have a kooky definition of an album. Anvil Vapre and Garbage were both EPs (which stands for extended play). An album=an LP (stands for long playing or long player), and Autechre is about to release their 6th of those. And whether they were packaged in Wax Trax's ++ is irrelevant. They were originally released as and intended to be EPs. -Ryan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
