Hey friends, Got my Electric Chicken Volume 1 12" a while back, there's a track on it by Hexagon Sun, a track called "error." I'm wondering if anyone could provide some info on what this is about... It really sounds nothing like BoC, so it's either a terrible ripoff of a name, or maybe friends of BoC making fame of a well known name. Any reply appreciated. Its really hard for me to believe that that is not BOC, it totally sounds like them ( maybe even a bit better) and name is just too close. Beyond that, the comp is really quite good, in particular are the the abrasive tracks by Tr^|| (or something like that). Heres some other good stuff that I've been listening to: Sybarite 7" on zeal Did you see Defocus comp While - Slip, the fennesz mix is great Quincy Jones - Summer in the City, the track that nightmares on wax and pharcyde sample. Raginakudo - featuring remixes by L usine, gimmik, quench and swap EU - Weinn 7" Multicast - Rural sessions Freeform's free mp3s from his great site freefarm.co.uk and as always, A Certain Ratio's samba tracks on MCR np: V. delay - Anima ____________________________________________ p l u m b d e s i g n Adesh Deosaran | Information Designer 157 chambers st ny ny 10007 p.212-285-8600 x240 f.212-285-8999 -----Original Message----- From: Joyrex [mailto:joyrex@ev1.net] Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 10:13 AM To: selectedacre@flashmail.com Cc: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Hexagon Sun That Hexagon Sun is *not* BoC...I think they had a track on a Skam comp so that confuses things further... jOyREX Selected Montoya wrote:

IMO, it's probably not Eoin & Sandison alone, but rather a larger group made up of people from the Hexagon Sun commune. i remember reading an interview with BoC awhile back in which they said BoC had once included more than 2 people (back in the early 90s). but i don't know, BoC are quite shady blokes...after all, Hell Interface is them yet they keep that hush-hush. as a sidenote, there are Hell Interface tracks on MASK 200 & 500: both are electro tracks (nlogax style) and both have R&B vocals. well, for all you trainspotters out there, "Midas Touch" from MASK 500 is actually a reworking of a 1986 top 20 R&B hit "Midas Touch" by the group Midnight Star. http://www.xs4all.nl/~prism/pages/midnightstar.htm and the vocal from the Hell Interface track on MASK 200 is from the song "Trapped" by Colonal Abrams (MCA 1975)--which, interestingly enough was first sampled by Dj Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince on "Trapped on the Dance Floor". for obvious copyright violations, BoC doesn't want it widely known that those (Hell Interface) tracks on the MASK comps are them. my 2 cents....
