heh,
just a cool tidbit, noticed that Phinnweb's Depth Charge/J Saul Kane page
has been updated with info from the man himself:
http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb/jsk/news/
..working with Alessandro Alesandroni? Who? I checked, and he's the guy who
did the twangy guitars and the whistling for Morricone's "Good, Bad And The
Ugly" in the 60s, plus scored a bunch of Spaghetti Westerns himself.
smart. in fact, supersmart :) oo, and looking at the DC Recordings
discography, I see a tie-in to the latest DeFocus release, even, seeing as
Skye's released some stuff on DC - I forgot that. Same Skye, I take it?
i think both DC Recordings and J Saul Kane are true originators, actually -
he prefigured the whole chemical beats thing, and his work on his label with
exotic film soundtrack reissues and weird intelligent triphop through to
genius unclassifiable stuff like Tom Tyler make him thoroughly admirable.
ok, blurb over ;)
regards,
h0l.
ps - anyone know what happened to J Saul Kane's Hong Kong video label, 'Made
In Hong Kong'? The webpage doesn't seem to have been updated in a long
time..
