I own a 12" from Dr. Octagon, "Blue Flowers", and the automator is definitely on there. He might not have done the scratching (I don't think he's a particularly great turntablist) but he definitely contributed. Now, Kid Koala did do the "cuts" on Deltron 3030, but Automator produced it, and damn well I might add. Kool Keith and Automator also collaborated on a track from "A Much Better Tomorrow". g. 'hotep' YES! VERY GOOD! Dan the Automater did do the production on the two of these albums, but the 'cuts' (that is hiphop speek for scratching) did not come from Kola on Octagonacologyst, they came from this guy named Q-Bert. Ever here of him, 'IDMers'? And the Dr. Octagon project was publicly lambasted by Keith (see here Dr. Dooom kills Dr. Octagon) because Automater made too much of a deal about the production of the album. Kola did the 'cuts' on Deltron (pop quiz: do you remember what 'cuts' mean?), and they are fairly decent, Kanadian styl-e stuff. Not as good as Qbert, but ohwell. In the future, I suggest that you all remain on topic on this list and stick to crap like "Emotional content of Autechre" or "Loop Based Music" and let the hiphop ride to those who know it. And watch sending idiot responses to those who know, m-kay? You caught me while I am drunk, sick, and tired....sorry if you are huffing and puffing after reading this. And dont clutter my inbox with stuff that is dated and wrong. laerm: reread the original post that said something to the extent of "Automater worked with kool keith on Dr Octagon and kid koala did the scratching...." or something ( i deleate almost all of these idms after i get them).... get your mind right, benine

Please, keep the "you-are-a-narrow-minded-IDM-loser" insults to yourself. There are plenty of people here who know a wholoe shitload about Hiphop and about a billion other genres. And no one said anything about Kid Koala being on Dr Octagon. Want me to send you all the original posts?

Well, you sure don't know Kid Koala, for someone who claims to know about Hiphop. First of all, he's one guy, Eric San, from Montreal, and I've been listenenig to him since before Ninja Tune "discovered" him. Oh, and A-Trak is Canadian too. Does his name ring a bell?

Okay, so calling you Ronald was a bit juvenile, but the opportunity to liken you to a clown was too much to pass up. To be honest, the more I read from you, the more apt my analogy seems. Evidence: 1. You tell me that I'm wrong about The Automator producing Deltron. Then you proceed to yell at me for not knowing that when you write "no he didn't," you mean precisely the opposite. My bad. 2. You skewer someone else for misinterpreting you (though I don't see how they misinterpreted), needing a "grammer lesson," and needing to retake paragraph writing. Then when people call you on your own poor grammar and punctuation skills, you go ballistic saying that grammar doesn't matter and that your misspellings and misconstructions are all part of your individuality. Hey, pal, I never would have even noticed you mispelling grammar if you weren't giving someone a lesson on the topic. You brought it up; you deserved to get reamed. BTW, since when do subjects and adverbs require agreement anyway? ... The fact is, Ron, you've managed to look like a clown the last couple of days. Cheers, -Ryan Quoting Benjamin McDonald <warpfan@hotmail.com>:

Benine, it's so amusing to ALL of us that you had to defend yourself so furiously when 1) you were wrong, and 2) nobody attacked you! here's what the othe guy said:
quoted 2 lines I've been loving The Automator's latest, Deltron 3030, with Del the Funkee>I've been loving The Automator's latest, Deltron 3030, with Del the Funkee >Homosapien. Automator worked with Kool Keith on >Dr. Octagon.
We all know this to be absolutely correct. and here was your mostly incorrect response:
quoted 3 lines No he didnt. Dr. Octagon's cuts came from Qbert. Kid Kola cut >on>No he didnt. Dr. Octagon's cuts came from Qbert. Kid Kola cut >on >Deltron. Get your mind right. >benine
Nobody was talking about cuts, just plain collaboration. Just because you were befuddled, misread the post, and then acted like a prick and were called on it doesn't mean you should act like more of a prick. I also think you would be flabbergasted at the number of peope on this list who know just as much or more about hip hop than you, O Oracle of B-Boy Diction and Philosophy. In fact, I was listening to hip hop when you were just starting to wank over the bra and panties section in the Sears catalog (unless of course you are over 38 years old, but judging by your puerile shenanigans, I doubt it), so just watch your tongue a bit, and stop over overcompensating for your vast shortcomings. bye, Warpfan! Peace! -petey
