aspen's "are you that retail snob?" is also being
reissued on surgery records, btw. you can check
the website at www.surgeryrecords.com.au. the
music is the same, the artwork is slightly different
as far as i know.
oh, and the mandrake album is called "shake your
space traveller". sounds are a cross between aspen,
plaid, and on a jazzy tip as well. very recommended,
and very well done. all beats, bass and beautiful
melodies are folded quite nicely on this release..
oh.. track 15 on "shake your space traveller" is called
"shake your space traveller (solo)". while i think "shake
your space traveller" the tune is one of the best tracks
next to "select electric" --this one will hit audio::nimbus
saturday night, btw.
aspen's "music from passing cars" is a slight shift to
the left from previous releases. this time around bevan
smith incorporates a more instrumental approach to
his subtle ambient electronics with guitar elements
popping around various tunes. looking forward to the
full release of this one as well..
