Someone was asking about getting hold of 'Album' and/or '...Retail Snob' earlier in the week, from memory. To the best of my knowledge both are now sold out, or as good as. For 'Retail Snob' I'd try New Zealand stores with an online presence, eg. http://www.marbecks.co.nz, http://www.cdstar.com.au/ or http://www.smokecds.com Regardless, if you check out http://www.surgeryrecords.com.au you'll see that this wicked wee Ozzy label is re-releasing it anyway. Oh yeah, and there's a tune from Aspen's third album, 'Music for Passing Cars', available via the Involve web site. 'Dropping bombs on the pet rug'. Not to mention the usefully labelled 'Track 15', which is a Mandrake tune I can't remember the name of off hand. Damn it's wicked, anyway! I guess I could find out the track name if Mandrake's album was mentioned at all on the site. :-D Major site overhaul on the way, luckily... Michael np. aspen's "are you that retail snob?" is also being reissued on surgery records, btw. you can check the website at www.surgeryrecords.com.au. the music is the same, the artwork is slightly different as far as i know. oh, and the mandrake album is called "shake your space traveller". sounds are a cross between aspen, plaid, and on a jazzy tip as well. very recommended, and very well done. all beats, bass and beautiful melodies are folded quite nicely on this release.. oh.. track 15 on "shake your space traveller" is called "shake your space traveller (solo)". while i think "shake your space traveller" the tune is one of the best tracks next to "select electric" --this one will hit audio::nimbus saturday night, btw. aspen's "music from passing cars" is a slight shift to the left from previous releases. this time around bevan smith incorporates a more instrumental approach to his subtle ambient electronics with guitar elements popping around various tunes. looking forward to the full release of this one as well.. pietro. :: :: :::: :: :: :: :: :: ::: :: :::: :: : :: igloo magazine :: :: :: www.igloomag.com pietro da sacco :: :: pietrobot@home.com 9745 lynngrove cr., windsor, ont., n8r 1b8, ca. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
