Hey all, I have no idea what microsound actually sounds like, as a style of music. But I just got a copy of Bip-hop Generation 1, and I'm intrigued by tracks 4, 5 and 6 (by Massimo, Massimo, and Goem respectively). Is this microsound? Or just plain minimal? Whatever it is, I've had those three tracks on loop for about 16 hours now, and I'm feeling pleasantly spaced out. G-love. http://www.gram.org.uk _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have been listening to MP3 of Gram and they sound good. Feel free to mail a CDR since I'd be pleased to listen to them more and airplay them through my radio program... About the micro thing, there have been lotsa debates on what is microsound. I guess that Massimo and Goem can be categorized microsound. In order to get more infos on the genre, and if you like them I strongly suggest that you check the "microsound e-mailing list". have a nice day__________philippe np : Scanner "live in montreal" 10/99 http://www.microsound.org microsound is an unmediated mailing list oriented toward discussion of the styles of digital and post-digital music promulgated by the proliferation and widespread adoption of digital signal processing (dsp) tools. .microsound is not a "genre" mailing list, since this proliferation has occurred largely without regard for stylistic boundary. instead, .microsound presents itself as a forum for the discussion and exploration of a more general "digital aesthetic" manifesting across a wide variety of styles and disciplines -- from academic computer music to post-industrial noise to experimental ambient and post-techno. ************************************************************** http://www.bip-hop.com unconventional sound adventures, adventurous & creative electronica... ************************************************************** BiP-HOp Generation v.1 MARUMARI / SCHNEIDER TM / PHONEM / GOEM / ULTRA MILKMAIDS / MASSIMO BiP-HOp Generation v. 2 AROVANE / BERNARD FLEISCHMANN / WARMDESK / KÖHN / WANG INC. / LAURENT PERNICE Bip-Hop is a label devoted to spread unconventional sound adventures, adventurous & creative electronica... sounds, based on machines, mix, modulations, modifications, sampling, glitches, clicks & cuts... blip... bleep... bip...
