in response to: "i have been quite disappointed by Ae's latest ep7,..." ... you know. i thought that too, at first... which is usually what happens when i buy a new CD/record and try to get my own personal instant gratification out of it... EP7 is just a different mindset. we as listeners of INTELLIGENT DANCE MUSIC (god, i hate it...) already have an affinity for music with subtle metaphors and expressions... in certain ways, i think it's silly the way we talk about this music as if it is to us as N'sync is to a 13 year old girl... we're still talking about curators of the music as if they were rockstars... we place the new "forward thinking" anomaly into the same construct that we all want to extricate ourselves from... or are we just trying to make this all mainstream? are we trying to do things differently or are we trying to re-assimilate ourselves into the matrix? I think this music has a much different potential than we are all giving it... and it's not just in the music. i'm sure the person i quoted had no intentions in this direction... I'm just throwin' something out there... cause this is a mailing list where we exchange thoughts on the topic of experimental dance, right? ------------------------------------------------------------ Community, Events, Music, News, Free Email All at www.undergroundsource.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
