Strange but of news from today's NME; "Actor and director Vincent Gallo has signed to Warp records, NME can reveal. Gallo will release an album of self-penned songs in spring next year through the label, though no song titles have been confirmed as yet." I was hoping he'd be trying to do another film to follow up Buffalo 66 (wasn't there something called the brown bear, or something like that, in the pipeline?). Oh well, should be interesting. Dan. this is massively intriguing... does anyone have any details? i loved buffalo '66 and gallo seems like an absolutely hilarious person in interviews. not to mention he's kind of a hottie, too. i'm eager. wells oliver wells@submute.net " i saved latin. what did you ever do? I saw him filming something around the corner from my apartment a couple of months ago, although he did look awfully relaxed to be its director. The real question is, who's going to bully Christina Ricci in the press if he's busy making music? -rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

He's always seemed like a pretentious NY media whore/scenester/player to me, and something of a misogynist too. He seems to think he's Orson Welles, Andy Warhol, Clint Eastwood, Liberace, and Bono all wrapped up into one. Tough guy, artist, dickhead, genius. The idea of him making IDM scares me, but that's because the idea of him doing any thing at all scares me. -Cf --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Vincent Gallo was an early NY b-boy/graf-guy. His name shows up on the production credits of "Graffiti Rock" (there's only one episode but it's really worth tracking down) and I'm pretty sure that Prince Vince who's in Grafitti Rock is in fact Vincent Gallo... that show spawned our fav office line ever... "tell us how you rock your hat?"...."I rock my hat fresh"..."yo fresh?"..."yo word fresh" So I could be wrong but I would assume that a record by Vince would be leaning towards hip-hop...
