Two tracks, "Occasional Music for a Wedding" are on my MP3
page. I did them for another IDM lister's wedding (HI MATT) which
happened last month.
We set up two stereos in the chapel, and one track played on each.
I wrote the two pieces to be sonically complementary, but not to
require any absolute synchronization.
The sounds came from Vaz Modular -- track one is 'pure' electronic,
and track two is entirely processed trumpet samples.
I could get all pompous about the art theory behind this piece, but
more directly I would say this: I was trying to make an enveloping
sound scape that set a mood, but really didn't require concentrated
listening.
A cute story about the actual wedding -- my track ended on one
stereo, and the next CD in the changer started playing -- some sort
of hip hop. It was a few minutes before anyone noticed and turned
it off.
I've also uploaded 20 minutes of my current live set -- recorded
at home, since I didn't have a recording made in Brooklyn. It will
be up when mp3.com gets off the dime ....
