It almost sounds sometimes like they may have dumped parts of the song onto a reel to reel and fucked with the playback speed. Certain parts of Aquarius come to mind. You know how it seems to speed up in the middle of the track? bouncing a final mix to tape is pretty common. you may be correct. listen to the song by the same name on the "hair" soundtrack, last time i listened i noticed that they lifted the bassline from there. maybe there is more. gasp. last time i suggested that boc sampled i received many nasty replies. -d --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

WTF?!?! Are you trying to say people actually believe that BOC has never sampled anything? If you listen to their music, they lift bits of soundtracks right off old National Film Board nature documentaries and such. Where do you think the voice on the track "Niagara" (on BOC Maxima) comes from? It's clearly from some documentary about Niagara Falls. Since they only just bought a computer, I'd venture to guess they sample quite a bit of stuff. like there is a song on the _boc maxima_ album, that is exclusive to that release (if i can say that), it has a sampled grovve from the beginning of Queen's _radio gaga_. all of you can easily justify me. hmmm a Q has just went through my mind recently, if the _peel sessions_ is the only release that has _happy cycling_. can anybody tell if there is a studio version or just the peel version (also on the matador us release of _MHTRTC_...) bias. there are tons of samples used in boards of canada tracks, like uhh aquarius, hexagon turquoise sun, the color of the fire, sixtyten, happy cycling, kaini industries, etc, etc, etc. almost every boards of canada track includes samples of some sort.

the peel sessions version is the same as the US release version on "music has the right to children." as far as i know, this is the only version. the other two songs that were different on the peel session were explicitly labelled as different versions (version 3 in this case). cheers, /derek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
