from the swedish magazine "Groove" 7/2000 (out last week): tied & tickled trio "ea1 ea2 rmx" (morr music) Tied & Tickled Trio isn't a trio at all. It's a collection of musicians, including sax player Johannes Enders, that play post rock/jazz. May show similarities to bands like Tortoise, etc. On "ea1 ea2 rmx" seven different artists have remixed material from the bands record of last year, of course titled "ea1 ea2." Opiate and Console both turn the bands material into nice click+cuts-inspired techno. Christof Kurzmann takes the opposite route and produces an impressive tune which sounds like as if Red Snapper would play free form jazz. Thomas "Max Ernst" Brinkmann's two contributions tries to create minimalistic techno from the source material, but the result isn't as good as i had expected. Kandis' warm, BoC-similar contribution is much better. The closing track from argentinian Gustavo Lamas has a few things in common with the Basic Channel gang's hissy dub techno. "ea1 ea2 rmx" is a pretty good collection remixes, if a bit too heterogenous. More good mixes than bad.
