so feel free to totally ignore this rambling, as many of you are hopefully accustomed to doing when i post this shit but i have been sort of charting a very specific trail through idm lately in my purchases, looking for a certain vein of sound in the idm world that i can't really think of what to call or how to classify it basically i am looking for rhythmically complex tracks with a dark or ambivalent sort of vibe to them. releases/artists in this vein that i'm describing would be : the fear ratio - refuge of a twisted soul (also Light Box, but Light Box is more in a Black Dog type vein with it's melodies) pretty much anything by Autechre pretty much anything by Richard Devine Vaetex - Libet Tones (Rob Clouth material is too warm melodically) Arovane - Aarlenpeers EP (other Arovane is too warm melodically) Aphex Twin - DrukQs (the electronic/non acoustic tracks only) Application - System Fork (all Application releases, really) Grischa Lichtenberger (all) AOKI Takamasa - Monad IX release Objekt - Flatland (and some other misc stuff which isn't dubsteppy) Steinvord Syndrone (all) Yaporigami - Drudged Torn Routine Less so but still related: misc Venetian Snares tracks from throughout his catalog Speedy J - Shocking Hobby/Public Energy No. 1 Mika Vainio - Kilo Pan Sonic - Gravitoni Carter Tutti Void - f (x) JK Flesh - Nothing's Free Does this at all resonate with anyone else?

As a reminder, one simply emails idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org (and replies to the confirmation email) to get off this list. Be sure and use the same email address you used when you joined; if it's changed, look in the headers of every list message, it'll explain how to be removed if that's the case. In this case, Dom's actual address was subscribed, so there should have been no issue to getting off of it. Regardless, I showed his address the door, while adding the potty-mouth to the aphex-bowel-movements@googlegroups.com list. Brian On Thu, 22 Oct 2015, DoM wrote:

this isn't really what i was referring to but at the same time its VERY much in the same darkwave realm of The Black Dog and B12, and wow it's... really really excellent in it's own right. very epic, very dark, has a great vintage analog sound to it that i am a sucker for.
