okay, i'm so sick and tired of not knowing.. is hell interface really our good buddies michael and marcus of BoC? i just finished listening to this track by hell interface called "soylent night" on vvmt0004 (available in mp3 form on their website) and it is really really good. at first it has that distortion laced v/vm sound but there's this little synth sound in the background that has the trademark BoC nostalgia-effect and it just got me thinking. and further confusing me, who did the vocals for the hell interface song "midas touch" on mask500. that's a wicked song. tired, shaun -- {{{5x}}} pressing "play" so you don't have to --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yes, hell interface is boards of canada. it's essentially "what they do when they're not being boards of canada," and although most of it is identifiable, it's usually not as engaging as normal boards of canada stuff. i believe there was some confusion to the tracklisting on mask500. i believe the boards of canada/hell interface track is the one right *before* midas touch. cheers, /derek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Has Hell Interface released much? I've only ever been able to find the track on the V/Vm 7"-- although there's a track on, I believe, "Turkey" (one of the Christmas 7"s from a year later), credited to "Bored In Canada" which also sounds rather BoC-y. -- andrij. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

It was confirmed by the Cosmic Crofter (BoC site administrator) that the "Midas Touch" reworking was by Hell Interface. Here's the running order on MASK 500: d-breeze post anodyne chaos ad sba jacobean hakan lidbo hell interface gescom sba --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Oh, but hang on - this looks, on the surface, to be wonderful, having the definitive running order... BUT there's a catch : why are there 10 tracks (with SBA appearing twice) and only 9 tracks on Mask 500? (Not owning the original, maybe I'm missing one, in which case ignore this entirely). Also, on my gloriously illegal MP3's, Midas Touch shows up as #3, so that being the beacon of light from which to navigate, this doesn't correspond with any other info. Further : any ideas who the actual artists are behind most of these 'names'? Still, no less mystified than before. Tossing sweatily in Trainspotter Hell! Really? I can see that. So who does the remix on track #B1, which was the one everyone thought was by them?

Hmph. Why is it that you NEVER see the tracklisting for this release? I know SOMEONE here has to know what it is. Neither of the Skam pages feature a tracklisting either. What's the reason? Are people afraid of the truth? Anyway, here's my take on the tracklisting (with the Hell Interface update - is it correct?): A1. ____?____ - "____?____ (____?____ remix)" A2. YAZOO - "Midnight (post remix)" A3. DURAN DURAN - "Save A Prayer (anodyne remix)" A4. ____?____/VAN HALEN - "Jump (chaos a.d. remix)" A5. SHANNON - "Give Me Tonight (sonic beat alliance remix)" B1. ____?____ - "____?____ (____?____ remix)" B2. DAVID BOWIE - "Ashes To Ashes (____?____)" B3. MIDNIGHT STAR - "The Midas Touch (hell interface remix)" B4. MAN PARRISH - "Boogie Down Bronx (gescom remix)" B5. ____?____ - "____?____ (sonic beat alliance remix)" I'm going to keep harping on this until I get a straight answer. Come on... I challenge someone to set the record straight. Bock Bock BoC. .`-). christopher miller o o.' evil@fdt.net == ' ps. I'm not claiming that my tracklisting is correct... this is just based on what discussions I've had with several people. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
