team doyobi was on the NWA remix cd that has kid 606 and others on it. Actually, the team doyobi mix was by far the best, and almost made me buy an otherwise shoddy peice of work. Great concept, poor execution. I havent heard the new Team Doyobi release on Skam but I really enjoyed the previous material i've heard from them. The stuff i've heard ranges from crunchy-this-listy-idm to experimental soundscapes.. Other Team Doyobi stuff to check includes: . Req/Team Doyobi split 12" (Fat Cat) . Sofa Variations comp cdr (Sofa) . Split Series 1-8 cop cd (Fat Cat) . Structure Decay comp cd (Fat Cat) . Attitude comp 3" cd (Tigerbeat6) . Digital Space comp 2xcd (DSP) . Hey, I don't remember there being a big discussion about Team Doyobi before (but more than likely there was). Is there anywhere on the net I could find out more about them? The cd just says audioby gladwinandpeverett. I am assuming those are the last names of the guys who made it... Were they at the Warp party? If so, was it good? I must have missed them, didn't spend much time in the Skam tent. Any news of another release? A short paragraph of praise... I really enjoyed push chairs for grown-ups. They aren't a far departure from the whole Autechre-ish bog of music being put out these days, but it's enjoyable and has something the usual clones don't. I thought their remix of fuck the police kicked ass, and the sticker that came with the cd was cool. -Matt- www.konstruktiv.net "There is absolutely no inevitability as long as there is a willingness to contemplate what is happening." -Marshall McLuhan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Matt Anderson wrote: (some praiseful stuff about Team Doyobi). They are great. My favourite track is their self-remix on the 555 Records' compilation "Chihuahuas and Chinese Noodles". Seriously, everyone should go and purchase this CD _immediately_. It's one of my releases of the year. 555 site: http://www.tsoft.com/~aelison/555/ You can get it from all the usual suspects, Synaesthesia, s://kimo, bent crayon, Forced Exposure... Team Doyobi's track combines little percussive noises and very idm bassline/melodic stuff with the funkiest deep bass drops and... I dunno, hard to describe. I marched around London to it a lot when I was there earlier this year, great walking tempo. As well as them, there's remixes of or by Accelera Deck, Kid 606 (including an untitled last track which fucks around very satisfyingly with TLC I believe), Third Eye Foundation, Hood, Downpour, Remote Viewer, etc etc. It's first class.
