As a matter of fact, you're right. But I digress. This is totally a matter of opinion. If you like their newer stuff better, that's cool. I hope they keep putting out records. But I also hope they find a sound that's a little more memorable. Each song on Tri Repetae has its own character and style. Tracks on the new albums (especially EP7) all sound the same to me. I guess they're alright to listen to, but I usually take the cd out after about the eighth or ninth track because it's so damn boring and directionless. They've certainly proven they're influential. There ARE a lot of bands who copy their older sound. But I've heard very little imitation of LP5 or EP7. forcasa __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! You're absolutely right, not smartazz at all. But you know we'll probably start hearing imitations in like 5 years from now when every joe shmoe has finally figured out Max/MSP or finally saved up enough to get a Kyma system or whatever. yeah, that's the thing about electronic evolution i suppose. i remember when i first heard "nannou" i was like.."whoooooaaaaaa" now anyone with an mp3.com page can make a similiar nannou and call it babou or some shit like that. now, i've progressed to a stage where i can process drums like autechre can. whatever eh? i think a debate can now lie in the longevity of the originality of idm. is it bad because it's so easy to emulate now? what does that say? i dunno, you tell me, dudes and dudettes. i'm just trying to offer some fodder -- {{{5x}}} clicking faders so you don't have to --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
