I was there, and their laptop burnt out during the first 3 tracks because
they didn't have a power converter that could change American output wattage
to German output wattage (I don't actually know much about that, so if I said
something wrong don't email me about it). Anyway, most of their set was a DJ
set, and most of kid606s set was fucking up his music by means of some laptop
filter thing (I asked him what it was after the show and he just said
something nonsensicle and walked away.. if you know what he uses,.. or if
kid606 is on this list, I am interested to know what that was.. he said it
wasn't a tracker.. but how can you make music without a tracker.. isn't
anything that uses samples on a computer concidered a tracker???) with wutang
and other hiphop added in. I only noticed 1 kid606 song (I only have the
down with the scene album). It was way to glitchy for me....
also when I was there, there was a man selling merchandise (mostly cds). I
bought the first album by datachi with my last 12 dollars. I did this
because it said on the front cover on a translucent sticker something to the
nature of "how can he possibly make a better album, this is amazing 5/5 -
[someguysname] alternative press"
When I got in my car, I put this on and tried as hard as I could to listen to
the album. However, I don't think I could subject anyone to listening to
that.. and I have no IDEA why it got a review like that.. In my opinion,
there are maybe 2 songs that were even close to being able to be listened to.
Other than that it was all distorted (and badly distorted) 808 kicks with
decay shortened snares and clicks with flangers on them.. It had no basis in
musical theory... It really didn't sound like anything other than badly
distorted and badly recorded music by someone who didn't know what they were
doing. If there was some. Please tell me if there was something behind this
album or if mine was.. maybe a fucked up copy.... I just dont get it. There
was a cool glitch track or two, but I noticed that .. and I am positive of
this, it used many samples from gescom minidisk.
In short please don't buy this album unless you want to be sick or unless you
are sick. Also, don't take me wrong, because I support datachi's new
release, I thought that was sort of cool..
