maybe wasn't mentioned because it's just so not IDM. but it is a wonderful
release, as is the first sack and blumm album on tom. for those who
haven't heard any of this stuff, go check it out at www.tomlab.de
haven't listened to betvanille enough to really give a good review, but
the sack&blumm album would have been right near the very top of my 1999
list if i had heard it in 1999. since i just got it a few months ago, it
will get an honorary spot on the best of 2000. again, not IDM, but such
beautiful sounds. don't take my word for it though. you can listen to
a good bit of the album on real audio on the site. one thing, though.
someone screwed up the link for the track "ebb" (my favorite on the album,
i think) it should be
http://www.tomlab.de/hitech/tom5/sackblumm_ebb.ram
on the number pad it's correct, but not on the actual text links. anyway,
the artwork alone should give you a good idea of what to expect from the
sounds. playful and beautiful.
i can't recommend their stuff enough.
