What is the difference between a double grooved 7" and a normal 7"? is there a hidden track or something? Please refrain from the obvious gag. scott _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. assuming it doesn't mean one track either side (does this count as the obvious gag) i came across a double grooved 7" a while back, i think it was by psychic tv. one side of the record had two separate (parallel/concentric?) grooves. though neither track was really hidden, it only looked like a single track and when you put the needle on you weren't sure whether you were going to get charles manson, or the jonestown crackpot (?). think the other side had the original roman p track, so it was a case of buy two nutters and get one free. i know non/boyd rice also did a similar release groovewise. -martin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I'm guessing "double grooved" means two parallel grooves on the same side of a record.. meaning, when you put the needle at the beginning of the single, there's a 50/50 chance it will enter into one groove or the other. I think there was a Monty Python record that did that... ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County "Zee Robot attacked zee computer -- in zee outer space...!" ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
