the lithops track is from uni umit, and sounds nothing like the rest of record (which is also great)

same here ,after hearing it 100 times i wanted more, i haven't had a chance to hear any of their albums, *can anyone suggest one* (richard devine comes closest to a similar sound for me but i don't think he has anything not on a comp or remix album). damian --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Apologies if someone else has already responded--I'm on digest--but the "one" FX Randomiz (one person, real name felix) album should be pretty easy to pick, seeing as how he's only got one (extremely fantastic and goofy) full length, namely 'goflex' on a-musik, which contains some of the more complex glitchy pop electronics around, vaguely reminiscent of Autoditacker/niun niggung era MoM--with good reason, seeing as how he did some production on both (e.g. the fx tracks, including my personal fave drykorn mix of dark fx on the twift single). The 'Stack' 12" on Sonig I also picked up recently-- it seemed a helluvalot busier/heavier, and closer to devine's sound-- I haven't listened Randomiz's track on the sonig comp to know for sure what you've heard & liked. But if you're looking for tracks that are closer to current output on schematic, then stack's what you want-- I prefer goflex myself, but stack hasn't left my player much since I've gotten it. I'd also recommend that you check out the 'fijnewas afpompen' album by Holosud on a-musik, which is basically Randomiz palling up with Schlammpeitziger to make silly, lovely, oompah-retro-funk. He's also made an impossible-to-obtain 12" with Jan St. Werner on Gefriem called "Slow", which I'd love to own if anybody's got a hot tip. Oh, and new full-length in the works. So yeah. Cheers, M. The only full-length F.X. Randomiz has released is called "Goflex"; he also has a recent EP "Stack" on Sonig. He has been working with folks for several years. Recently he's worked closely with Mouse on Mars doing digital processing, and Schlampeigziger <uh.. "sp"> under the moniker "Holosud". Holosud is sort of goofy, but totally enjoyable in its own right. "Goflex" is an amazing album on its own, and definitely recommended, although many of the tracks aren't as delicate as the Sonig comp track. Devine has a now hard-to-find EP on Schematic, and some older material which isn't terribly interesting. (comps/remixes excepted) He has a full-length CD/3xLP on Schematic, an EP on Warp (called lipservice) coming up soon, and probably some other stuff. If you dig that ultrafast DSP'd triplets into infinity sound, you'll be happy to know you'll be hearing more of it. (with some surprises.. weird digital ambience being one of them) later Andrew -- -| Andrew Schrock | aschrock@cs.brandeis.edu |- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
