The ;) is duly noted, but there's a well-known Picasso anecdote that might
be pertinent here-- a woman came to an opening exhibit of picasso's later,
more primitive paintings, and mentioned, within earshot of Picasso, that her
eight year old son could do better. Picasso took her aside and said, with a
sincere tone, "Then madam, your son is a genius."
Technical difficulty is by no means a indicator of whether something has
significance or artistic merit-- that's pretty much why most people still
seem to maintain that pesky craft/art distinction. If you made a carbon Mego
track, even if "better", you'd be doing far worse than the artists
themselves, who aren't tied to that (although I guess you could make some
arguments ;) ) And despite the fact that I'm not an extraordinary fan of
fennesz et al, I don't really know how fair it is to say that the Mego
material has already been "done" by Merzbow, just because they both can be
made to fit into the "noise" category.

Agreed on both points. Love that shit, and look forward to hearing your
music, even if I had to smile at your complete willingness to indirectly
tell everyone how good you think it is-- reminds me of a few brit popsters.
You'll have to work on your delivery, though. For full effect, you have to
be completely shameless. ;)
