I heard about this Amon Tobin track last night through a friend. Apparently Chris Morris (http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk) did a sketch on his radio show "Blue Jam" with one of Amon Tobin's tracks playing in the background while people had strange and vocal sex over the top. According to my friend, Amon heard it and phoned him up asking if he could sample the sketch and use it in a track. It sounds promising (well, anything involving either of these guys is bound to be great)...spent the evening downloading realaudio Blue Jam broadcasts. Have just had a look round the Ninja website and found it on the 'Slowly' 10" and I'm really looking forward to hearing it. Has anyone else got this release? Any comments, good or bad? After all that, what a great idea for a track: creating it entirely out of sounds of people having sex. You've got percussive noises, melodic sounds...wow. Just gotta find me some friendly people who'll let me record 'em! G-love. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Err, the track from the Trans-Europe Express III (i think) by J Saul Kane is almost all porn samples. Everyone thinks about sampling porn, right after they get done sampling all their household items a la Herbert. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Heh, haven't heard that track, but you could check out 'Fuck' or 'Masturbatorium' by the Hafler Trio. They purport to being entirely made from the sounds of someone masturbating (I think 'Fuck' is a man, 'Masturbatorium' a woman - Annie Sprinkle, no less). The deal is they're supposedly processed sounds of the results of lots of contact mics in lots of different locations on each of their bodies. It being the Hafler Trio I'm fairly suspicious of whether it really has anything to do with the real process involved, but I also wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it was. *shrug* I've only heard whichever the female one is and it was a really cool sounding release. For those who are concerned such a thing might be smutty sounding or whatever, it's actually damn hard to detect any kind of reference to any natural sounds, let alone porn-style grunts and groans. Hafler Trio's "Fuck" (or "Fuck the Hafler Trio", depending on how you read the cover) only has a bit of breathing noises here and there (how much noise do most guys make when they're shaking hands with the guv'nor anyways?). Other than that it's pretty much stripped down techno that reminds me vaguely of Coil's ritual music ("How to Destroy Angels", etc.). The cover is a bit, um, penis-y and is good for upsetting members of certain demographics.

I'd have to say about the same. Their propaganda and liner notes are always good for a chuckle. Ktothak --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
