yeah, probably. i love cylob. he make great music. what i like the most is how very sythetic he always sounds, while still managing to make some of the most emotional music i know of. cylobian sunset is a classic. it is so beautiful it hurts. and the beats are good and tight. i also like "previously unavailable on cd", it about in the same vein. the lobster tracks ep is totally different and i really like it too even though it has some sort of lame shit on it. the first track is brilliant. what i _don't_ like by cylob is the new cd, "living in the 80s". sorry, i just don't see what's so great about recording and releasing a vintage 80s madonna song in 1999. maybe it's cute and "kitschy" but i just think it is dumb. i don't like this side of cylob at all. so that's what i think. klunko/matt --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The new "Living in the 1980s" b/w "Sex Machine" is a pretty stark departure for Cylob. I can dig it, but it's nothing like his past work. -- jr --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

We don't talk about Cylob because he sucks and has not written a tune worth a damn since Cylobian Sunsets. That is exactly why. I really only like that grey vinyl platter in that strange cover... We always used it as closing tracks to scare people off. i'm talking about four years ago now... Anyway, at one day we got so bored with that, that we broke the vinyl in three parts and put it back on the recordplayer. Needless to say the clubowners where not too happy but it sounded brilliant... Just try it... I'm NOT joking here. -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: Visions Of Bubba <sbabakha@videon.wave.ca> Aan: IDM <idm@hyperreal.org> Datum: donderdag 9 december 1999 23:25 Onderwerp: (idm)Cylob

No amen from me. Cylob's Lobster Tracks, Previously Unreleased and Latest Effort--to name but 3--are staples in my DJ sets and are full of brilliant off-kilter electro that never fails to draw people to the decks in awe, to find out what the hell that crazy stuff is. Sure, these releases don't sound like Cylobian Sunsets, but that's missing the point. Like a lot of the best electronic musicians, Cylob can throw down many styles and excel at most of them. I'm pretty sure the "amens" were about Wells' tendency to provide light entertainment in an all-too-often pretentious and sometimes silly environment - not necessarily a chorus of agreement with his "review". jeff chad mossholder wrote:
